Judy Kay Ferry (nee: White), 81 years of age, and a resident of Westlake, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Ames Family Hospice Center following a long and full life.
Judy was born January 30, 1943, in Canton, Illinois, before moving to Elyria at the age of eight. She spent the majority of her life in South Amherst.
Judy was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring after 28 years of service. She treasured her full time career as a homemaker, wife, and mother. Family was her focus and she enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as sewing, bowling, quilting, camping, crocheting, and doing hair for her family and herself.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, David Ferry; her children, Debbie Laudato of Medina, Jenny Fischer (Bart) of Amherst; her stepdaughter, Andrea Beckley; three grandchildren Jessica, Nicholas, Rosalina; eight great grandchildren; and her siblings, William White, and Brenda Roberts.
Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Ruhl, a grandson, Dustin Ruhl; her brothers, Tom and Audy White; and her parents, Thomas and Geneva White (nee: Hamby).
Friends may call Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 5:30 until the time of the service at 7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com .
