Beverly Jean Martin (nee Diedrick) 88, of Henrietta Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Beverly was born on December 9, 1935, in Oberlin, Ohio. She met her future husband, Donald. D. Martin, at Oberlin High School, where they both graduated in 1954. After graduation, Bev worked as a librarian for Oberlin College until she and Don started their family.
She was an avid football fan, and especially enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes games. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting scarves and afghans for friends and family. She loved animals and cared for many cats and dogs through the years. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and was most happy spending time with her children and grandchildren – even more so if that included going to get a hot fudge sundae.
She is survived by her daughter Julie (John) Batal of Tewksbury, MA; son Brian; daughter Suzanne (Anthony) Valerius of Henrietta Township; grandchildren Ian, Jack and Lauren Valerius; and brother Richard Diedrick of Arizona.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Donald D. Martin; her parents Carleton and Ruth (nee Cook) Diedrick, and sister Phyllis Bryant.
Burial will be private.
